ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

Trailer review!

ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS has released another trailer and I have decided to talk about it!
I absolutely loved the first film, the colours and the consumes where AMAZING!

So here's the trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass:

Here's another trailer that has been released:

So that was bloody brilliant! I have waited for this for a very very long time!
When I first found out that they were doing another I was over the moon. And I have been waiting ever since for this to happen. It feels like it's taken so long, and I know it takes a while to make films. But I guess that what makes it more exciting, waiting for the first trailer to be released and then the film! However sometimes you can feel disappointed, perhaps not by the trailer but by the actual film…

Out of the 2 trailers attached my favorite is the second. I'm not really sure why, maybe because its new. I like the music too.
I have a thing about soundtracks to films. Obviously the sound is as equally as important as whats on the screen.

So what I noticed straight away is that the colours have slightly changed. Perhaps this is something to do with Tim Burton not directing this time. But it thing it is also to show how time has passed since Alice's last visit. Especially now the White Queen is you know... Queen.
I think this is one of the reasons why I love these films so much. The colours.

I feel like the colours play a part in transporting you into the world of wonderland. The costumes and make-up, and colours of them, make you believe in wonderland and I really feel like when I watch this film and the new trailer that I am being transported into another world, just through the colours. I know it sounds a bit weird but I do feel this way. The colours of the film are so bright, weird and wonderful, that it feels like another world.

To me, I don't feel like the trailer has given much away. Obviously it has given things away but there are so many questions that are left open for the audience to wonder about until the film. I for one are SOOOOOOOOO excited to see it.

I'm even thinking about pre-booking my tickets so I can see it on May 27th when it comes out.
One thing I have always wanted to go to is the very first showing and normally that's at midnight, or just after. What some cinemas do is, if the new film is following one from the another, they will show the one before and then the new one. One of the things I defiantly wan to do is this.
Or go to a premier, to see the actors and directors there, even dress up. That would be awesome.
Or go to Comic-Con. This is my ultimate goal to do. Go to America and go to Comic-Con, just like they did in the movie called Paul

Anyway...

I seriously can not wait for ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS its going to be amazing!

Alice Through the Looking Glass is in cinema's May 27th

LEO HAS AN OSCAR!!!

Finally after many years, Leonardo DiCaprio has an Oscar!
I am so happy for him, he deserves this.
His speach was incredible, he used his voice to speak for those who haven't got one. He also talked about the environment, he used his big moment to talk about global warming, so people would listen. He really does deserve this award.
Congratulations Leo!

AIDAN TURNER!

A I D A N    T U R N E R

Now I don't just adore Aidan because of his looks. I find him hilarious! He is also an amazing actor!

I first 'discovered' if you like who he was from The Hobbit which is one of my favorite films, it also has Martin Freeman, who I've also wrote a post about. The first of three of The Hobbit films was released in 2012, and I loved it. I loved the Lord of the Rings but I liked these a little better. I love his character, well Fili and Kili. I think the actors really complimented each other really well and i loved the little jokes they would do to try and annoy Bilbo (which always worked).
This scene is still one of my favorites of the film as we are introduced to the nephews of Thorin Oakensheild (Played by Richard Armitage), Fili (Dean O'Gorman) and Kili (Aidan Turner). Already you can tell they are a little mischievous but also that they like to look out for each other.

Before we go any further I think I should provide you with a little more informs about him if you don't know already…
Aidan Turner looking serious but as hot as ever!
Name: Aidan Turner
Born:  June 19, 1983 in Dublin, Ireland
Films Most Known For:
  • The Hobbit (all three films)
  • The Mortal Instruments City Of Bones
  • Poldark
Upcoming Films / TV Shows:
  • The Secret Scripture
  • Loving Vincent
  • Look Away

I feel like we should / need to talk about Aidan in Being Human I mean him as a vampire was awesome. I loved how his character, Mitchel and Russel Tovey's character, George bounce off each other and the 'banter' they had. That was even better, I watched it again the other week and completely forgot how it made me laugh. I also realise I say a line from the show that George says in one of the first episodes which is "is everyone taking stupid pills". Even thinking about it or writing about it makes me laugh.

I also believe we MUST talk about his accent. I mean…wow. I'm always surprised when i do hear his accent. I think its because he never really keeps it in movies and TV shows.

Heres a little (ish) video of him being adorable and funny:
Try watching this and not smile or laugh!
Did you smile and laugh? I bet you did...
Isn't he just so adorable and precious!!
Look at his little smile <3
This has to be my favorite gif ever!!! I laughed way too hard at this to I had to put it in for you viewing pleasure.

Today as I was finishing this post I Googled him to find the pictures and he has just finished a weeks filming Poldark. Not only that but some people had met him on a train form Bristol to Bath...
Now if it was me who was sat next to Aidan I would be on the phone to my friend straight away and then taking pictures every five seconds! I mean not in a creepy way but just to make sure he was actually there and I wasn't going crazy and seeing things.
Seriously though could you imagine a whole train ride with one of your favorite actors I mean I think I would faint (In the hope he would catch me obviously...).
This is the picture from the train look how cute he looks <3 <3

I am going to leave you with this adorable picture of the wonderful Aidan Turner!

Thanks for reading! See you soon

Leonardo DiCaprio...

Everyone or at least most people know who Leo is... If you don't where have you been! Here is a little bit about him before I start...

Name: Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio
Born: November 1, 1974
Films Most Known For:
  • Titanic (1997)
  • The Departed (2006)
  • Inception (2010)
  • The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Other Films:

  • Romeo + Juliet
  • The Beach
  • The Aviator
  • Blood Diamond
  • Catch Me If You Can
  • Shutter Island
  • Django Unchained
  • The Great Gatsby
Most Recent Film: The Revenant
Upcoming Movie: Live By Night

I think most of you know what I am going to talk about... This man above in the gif has NEVER won an Oscar. The Oscars are coming up and the nominees have been released, take a look here in the link, I mean if you want to http://oscar.go.com/nominees
I really think he does deserve an Oscar! He's been in so many amazing films and played such diverse career and very few actors have.

A Few Funny Memes:

I can't understand why he hasn't won one because if the people who decide these things thought he wasn't worthy enough to have an Oscar surely they wouldn't keep nominating him.
I think one of my favorite films of his is Shutter Island  I used to watch little bits of it each morning before I went to school and I didn't want to stop watching it. I loved the twist it had at the end, I've only watched it once and its still one of my favorites! Another is probably The Beach I can't remember why I watched it. I think someone must of mentioned it in school or something. I remember watching it and loving the place where they were, I also thought it was like a 'happy' film as such but by the end of the film I was sort of like 'wow this is dark'. I still loved it though!!
I did sort of enjoy Romeo + Juliet however I couldn't watch it now as I don't really like Shakespeare, I studied Romeo + Juliet for 3 years straight in school so I just can't now. The only Shakespeare play I like is A Midsummer Nights Dream.
In college I'm doing The Great Gatsby in English and I had already seen the film before so every time I read it and Gatsby is in it all I can imagine is Leo (which I don't think is a bad thing). The only problem is I never seem to make it to the end of the film because my dad turns it off.

Anyway, although Leo said that he was flattered that people want him to have an Oscar, he doesn't want one because that's not why he does this job. If you could call it a job!
"The best thing about acting is that I lose myself in another character and actually get paid for it. Its a great outlet. As for myself, I'm not sure who I am. It seems that I change everyday" - Leonardo DiCaprio
I am going to leave it on that quote

The Force Has Awakened!

But is it strong?

It all began in a galaxy far far away in 1977 Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was born. However when it was released in 1977 it was called that it was only called Star Wars the episode number and 'a new hope' would be added with the films April 10, 1981, theatrical re-release. Here we see Luke Skywalker join forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire's world-destroying battle-station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the evil Darth Vader.
Second in the trilogy was Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, which was released in 1980. After the rebels have been brutally overpowered by the Empire on there newly established base, Luke Skywalker takes the advanced Jedi training with Master Yoda, while his friends are pursued by Darth Vader as part of a plan to capture Luke.
In 1983 Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi was released to complete to form the first 3 Star Wars films. In this episode the rebels are attempt to destroy the second Death Star, after rescuing Han Solo from the Palace of Jabba the Hutt, while Luke is struggling to make Vader turn from the dark side of the Force.

Then in 1999 Star Wars returned to our cinemas, but this time they were prequels. The first one out of the three was Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. This episode show two Jedi Knights a hostile blockade to find allies and become friends with a young boy who may bring balance to the Force, but the long dormant Sith resurface to reclaim there old glory.
The second was Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones that was released in 2002. Ten years after meeting, Anakin Skywalker shares a romance with Padme, while Obi-Wan investigates an assassination attempt on the Senitor and discovering a secret clone army crafted for the Jedi.
In 2005 came the last of the prequels, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Where during the near of the clone war, Darth Sidious has revealed himself and is ready to execute the last part of his plan to rule the Galaxy. Sidious is ready for his new apprentice, Lord Vader to step into action and kill the remaining Jedi. Vader, however, struggles to choose the dark side and save his wife or stay loyal to the Jedi order.

38 Years on… J.J.Abrams gives you Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The first order attempts to rule the Galaxy and only a ragtag group of heros can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance.

There has been many people say before the film was out that they didn't think it would be very good...
Some people said that they wouldn't enjoy it as the Storm Troopers uniform had been changed.
John Boyega who plays 'Finn'
In an interview with Sway Universe that there were many people who protested againsed the main character 'Finn' being black. (Here's the interview: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eHqdcMIGCic)
Many people recognized it as a 'state side thing' however it also could of been a worldwide thing. Also many people where confused about the trailer and said it made us believe that 'Finn' was a Jedi.I have to admit I did too but and I can understand why people thought that as he was holding Luke's lightsaber. I have a theory as to why they have done this. They may have made the trailer like this as to make you think this, so you are surprised when you find out he isn't but really 'Rey', played by Daisy Ridley, is a Jedi. I asked my Dad and my friend on there opinions of Finn.
  • My Dad, Rab: "Someone who's trying to do the right thing, a bit heroic. He is also loyal."
  • My Friend, Mia:"Is a strong young male protagonist who really brings the whole franchise back to life. He is very complex and has a very interesting back story which leaves the audience engaged with how he will develop. In moments he can be very serious and guide the whole narrative while in other scenes he can be funny and entertaining especially for younger audiences. It will be interesting to see how the story of Finn unfolds. Overall I think he is a great addition to the Star Wars franchise and will become "one of the greats" like Luke Skywalker to many audiences across the world and in the future"
Other Movies and TV Shows:
  • Becoming Human
  • Attack the Block
  • Imperial Dreams
  • Tinkershrimp & Dutch

Daisy Ridley who plays 'Rey'
Next up is Rey, who in my opinion is a badass! Rey is a human scavenger who was waiting for her family to return  to Jakku. But then while on a quest to find Luke Skywalker discovered her latent Force-sensitivity. Rey is played by Daisy Ridley, who said in an interview that she always imagined what it would like to have her face on the side of buses... Now she doesn't have to imagine! (i could imagine it to be quite weird).
From the trailer I didn't have a strong opinion of Rey, i just thought she was just there to help the story along in a way. I was wrong...
We all know that she will need training in the ways of the Force, but we also know who will provide that. The one the only Luke Skywalker. It has also been leaked on a Disney Infinity game that Rey was Luke's daughter. I had guessed this but my dad insisted that she wasn't. Disney did take it out of the game but not quick enough for people not to pick up on it. On the game when Rey and Kylo Ren fight, Kylo Ren called her cousin.
There were defiantly signs that Daisy was Luke's daughter or at least a Skywalker. The Reasons Are:
  1. When Rey firsts meets Maz Kanata, she hint that she might know Rey, she says ' I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes... I know your eyes!'
  2. Rey also finds Luke Skywalker's old lightsaber after she had heard a girl screaming, which I think it was her when she was left on Jakku, the lightsaber called to her. When she touched the lightsaber she had a vision which was showing her destiny.
I understand that it may be too obvious but maybe they did this on purpose, to make you think its too obvious so you think different. Once again I asked Dad and my friend about there views on Rey:

  • My Dad, Rab: "Character that has hidden depth, resourceful, brave, opportunistic and tough."
  • My Friend, Mia:"Has been portrayed very well and is refreshing for the audiences to see a strong female protagonist. Unlike Katniss from The Hunger Games Rey doesn't need have to be sexualised/objectified. She doesn't have to wear revealing clothes so audiences like her. She is a great role model and shows girls that you don't need men around you to help/save you. She is a very complex character which leaves the audience wanting to understand her background and see how the character develops. Overall I think Rey is a strong female character we've needed in modern day cinema and has bought to the screen a role model for generations to come"
Other Movies and TV Shows:
  • Casualty
  • Silent Witness
  • Mr Selfridge

Finally Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver. Kylo Ren is the son to Han Solo and Princess Leia. He was a force sensitive human who was training as a Jedi with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker but then turned to the dark side of the force and joining the Knights of Ren. His original name is Ben Solo.
Adam Driver who plays 'Kylo Ren'

I love a baddy, and i do have a slight crush on him however I still don't like him... or I shouldn't is a better way to but it!
SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen it yet...
I can not and will not believe he killed Han Solo, i mean thats his own father! Clearly he had some daddy issues but there was no need to kill the poor guy!!! When i went to see it in the cinema my dad actually said out loud "oh you b*****ed". I stuck my middle finger up at the screen. It also took me a feel seconds to realise what he done and i still can not believe it!
I asked my Dad and my friend to give some opinions on Kylo Ren:
  • My Dad, Rab: "Bit of a dick because he killed Han Solo, also conflicted and weak. Impressionable."
  • My Friend, Mia:"is very convincing in his role and really brings the evil to the film. I am looking forward to seeing how his relationships between all the other characters unfolds. Although we are meant to dislike him I also feel a sense of wanting to know more and to see why he is like he is. He is a very interesting character and a great addition to the film"

Other Movies and TV Shows:

  • Girls
  • What If
  • Hungry Hearts
  • While We're Young

Overall I loved this film although i didn't grow up with the originals i still watched them first to i knew the full story and i so happy that they have decided to do more. It was the first time ever that i had seen a Star Wars movie in the cinema. And when we were in the cinema my dad had the biggest smile on his face and said "its like I'm a kid again".

The Wizarding Wold of Harry Potter!

The Making Of Harry Potter

In December I went with my college to the one place I have wanted to go forever. And what is even better I got to go around with my friend, Mia. We always used to talk about going there together and now we did, with the help of out college of course.

I don't even know how to tell you how amazing it actually was.
Everything was covered in snow and all Christmasy. It looked amazing, they shut for about 3 days to put all the Christmas decorations up.
  • Did I cry? yes, twice...
I will tell you why, however I won't tell you the first time as it may ruin the surprise they have at the start
I just wasn't expecting the final part, it was so beautiful and magical...

This is what I saw as soon as I walked in the last room, I had no idea it was there, i was so blown away that it brought tears in my eyes as i had watched videos online of them making it and never thought it would be there. The time it must of took them to place all the details on there must of took hours!
We some of the costumes, props, sets. It was truly magnificent! I don't even know if I could tell you all the things I saw in there.

The Great Hall

The Great Hall was mind blowing, although you only had a limited amount of time in there, as another group would be coming through, It was still great! You seen how they lit the Christmas puddings, the Christmas food that was laid out...
You also saw everyones costumes... The houses where down the sides and right at the front was all the Teachers costumes it was truly magnificent!!!

I would tell you more however I do not want to ruin any surprises for you.
I could live there but maybe not the room with the massive spider in! I nearly had a heart attack when my friend pointed it out, it could of swallowed me whole...you know if it was alive...
The people who work there have literally the best jobs ever!

The Shop

The shop is HUGE! Its so amazing and you could buy everything and spend every last penny you have in there.
I brought:
  • a Slytherin scarf
  • a pen
  • a mug
  • a chocolate frog (still haven't ate it though, its huge)
  • some post cards so i can put them up on my wall
  • a magnet for my Nana, anywhere I go I buy her one
  • Me and my friend also bought each otheres Christmas presents from there, i got her a Gryffindor pen and she got me a Slytherin one.
I would defiantly recommend going it was one of the best days ever!

See you soon
