But is it strong?
It all began in a galaxy far far away in 1977 Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was born. However when it was released in 1977 it was called that it was only called Star Wars the episode number and 'a new hope' would be added with the films April 10, 1981, theatrical re-release. There has been many people say before the film was out that they didn't think it would be very good...
Some people said that they wouldn't enjoy it as the Storm Troopers uniform had been changed.

Many people recognized it as a 'state side thing' however it also could of been a worldwide thing. Also many people where confused about the trailer and said it made us believe that 'Finn' was a Jedi.I have to admit I did too but and I can understand why people thought that as he was holding Luke's lightsaber. I have a theory as to why they have done this. They may have made the trailer like this as to make you think this, so you are surprised when you find out he isn't but really 'Rey', played by Daisy Ridley, is a Jedi. I asked my Dad and my friend on there opinions of Finn.
- My Dad, Rab: "Someone who's trying to do the right thing, a bit heroic. He is also loyal."
- My Friend, Mia:"Is a strong young male protagonist who really brings the whole franchise back to life. He is very complex and has a very interesting back story which leaves the audience engaged with how he will develop. In moments he can be very serious and guide the whole narrative while in other scenes he can be funny and entertaining especially for younger audiences. It will be interesting to see how the story of Finn unfolds. Overall I think he is a great addition to the Star Wars franchise and will become "one of the greats" like Luke Skywalker to many audiences across the world and in the future"

Daisy Ridley who plays 'Rey' |
From the trailer I didn't have a strong opinion of Rey, i just thought she was just there to help the story along in a way. I was wrong...
We all know that she will need training in the ways of the Force, but we also know who will provide that. The one the only Luke Skywalker. It has also been leaked on a Disney Infinity game that Rey was Luke's daughter. I had guessed this but my dad insisted that she wasn't. Disney did take it out of the game but not quick enough for people not to pick up on it. On the game when Rey and Kylo Ren fight, Kylo Ren called her cousin.
There were defiantly signs that Daisy was Luke's daughter or at least a Skywalker. The Reasons Are:
- When Rey firsts meets Maz Kanata, she hint that she might know Rey, she says ' I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes... I know your eyes!'
- Rey also finds Luke Skywalker's old lightsaber after she had heard a girl screaming, which I think it was her when she was left on Jakku, the lightsaber called to her. When she touched the lightsaber she had a vision which was showing her destiny.
- My Dad, Rab: "Character that has hidden depth, resourceful, brave, opportunistic and tough."
- My Friend, Mia:"Has been portrayed very well and is refreshing for the audiences to see a strong female protagonist. Unlike Katniss from The Hunger Games Rey doesn't need have to be sexualised/objectified. She doesn't have to wear revealing clothes so audiences like her. She is a great role model and shows girls that you don't need men around you to help/save you. She is a very complex character which leaves the audience wanting to understand her background and see how the character develops. Overall I think Rey is a strong female character we've needed in modern day cinema and has bought to the screen a role model for generations to come"

Finally Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver. Kylo Ren is the son to Han Solo and Princess Leia. He was a force sensitive human who was training as a Jedi with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker but then turned to the dark side of the force and joining the Knights of Ren. His original name is Ben Solo.

I love a baddy, and i do have a slight crush on him however I still don't like him... or I shouldn't is a better way to but it!
SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen it yet...
I can not and will not believe he killed Han Solo, i mean thats his own father! Clearly he had some daddy issues but there was no need to kill the poor guy!!! When i went to see it in the cinema my dad actually said out loud "oh you b*****ed". I stuck my middle finger up at the screen. It also took me a feel seconds to realise what he done and i still can not believe it!
I asked my Dad and my friend to give some opinions on Kylo Ren:
- My Dad, Rab: "Bit of a dick because he killed Han Solo, also conflicted and weak. Impressionable."
- My Friend, Mia:"is very convincing in his role and really brings the evil to the film. I am looking forward to seeing how his relationships between all the other characters unfolds. Although we are meant to dislike him I also feel a sense of wanting to know more and to see why he is like he is. He is a very interesting character and a great addition to the film"
